Equality in the workplace

What is the Gender Equality Index?

Every year, companies with at least 50 employees must calculate and publish their Gender Equality Index. The 100-point index is calculated on the basis of four or five indicators, depending on the size of the company.

As for the year 2025, the Scalian Economic and Social Unit obtained 94 points out of 100 in the gender equality index. This is broken down by indicator as follows:

Pay gap

Difference in the rate of individual pay rises

Difference in promotion rates

Return from maternity leave

High pay

Scalian Consulting scored 84 out of 100 on the gender equality index. This is broken down by indicator as follows:

Pay gap

Difference in the rate of individual pay rises

Return from maternity leave

High pay

The fact that we did not score full marks for the ‘pay gap’ indicator is linked to a specific, isolated gap in the 40-49 age group, resulting from the predominance of men in management positions in this age group. We are working to make these positions more accessible to women.

The failure to obtain full marks for the ‘high pay’ indicator is linked to the fact that management positions are predominantly held by men. We will work to make these positions more accessible to female staff.
