Systems & Infrastructure Operations Engineer (M/F)

  1. Casablanca

Context

As part of the operational continuity and evolution of Scalian Group's IT infrastructure, we are looking for a Systems & Infrastructure Operations Engineer. This is a hands-on role primarily focused on day-to-day operations, infrastructure reliability and user service continuity in an international, multi-site environment. The position will also contribute to technical improvements and transformation projects, without losing its strong operational focus.

Reporting Line

Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will join the Systems team within the Group IT Department.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate, administer and maintain Windows Server environments on a daily basis

• Administer VMware virtualisation platforms and the associated infrastructure

• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity and backup execution

• Manage the full server lifecycle: provisioning, configuration, inventory, patching, upgrades and decommissioning

• Administer backup and recovery solutions, investigate failed jobs and perform regular restoration tests

• Handle Level 2 and Level 3 incidents and service requests, including diagnosis, resolution, escalation and follow-up

• Perform routine operational activities and preventive maintenance in accordance with procedures and service commitments

• Support application and business teams with infrastructure provisioning and troubleshooting

• Maintain accurate operating procedures, inventories, technical documentation and knowledge articles

• Participate in service continuity, operational handovers and knowledge sharing within the team

• Contribute to infrastructure projects and the integration of new entities, while keeping operational responsibilities as the priority

Operations, Security and Continuous Improvement

• Apply security patches, remediate vulnerabilities and maintain secure system configurations

• Implement and maintain Windows hardening standards and Group information security policies

• Contribute to compliance activities, particularly ISO 27001, through reliable operations and auditable documentation

• Analyse recurring incidents and propose pragmatic corrective or preventive actions

• Automate repetitive operational tasks using PowerShell and/or Ansible where this improves reliability and efficiency

• Improve monitoring, alerting, standardisation and operating practices

Technical Environment

• Systems: Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP

• Virtualisation: VMware vSphere / vCenter / VxRail

• Backup and recovery: NetBackup / ExaGrid

• Storage: SAN / NAS environments, particularly NetApp

• Operations: monitoring, alerting, log centralisation, patch management and incident management tools

• Automation: PowerShell, Ansible, Git

• Cloud: Microsoft Azure, hybrid environments and OVH

• Depending on the candidate’s profile: Linux, SQL Server and related infrastructure services

Candidate Profile

You hold at least a two-year higher education qualification in IT and have solid hands-on experience in systems and infrastructure operations within a multi-site enterprise environment. You are comfortable managing production environments, handling incidents, following operational procedures and working on recurring administration activities. Strong practical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware virtualisation, backup and recovery is expected. Experience with monitoring, storage, ITIL practices, hybrid environments or automation would be an advantage. This position is suited to a reliable operations-oriented professional rather than a purely project, architecture or cloud engineering profile.

Behavioral Skills

Service-oriented, hands-on, reliable, autonomous, collaborative, thorough, well organised and responsive. You are able to prioritise operational issues, remain calm during incidents, follow through until resolution, document your work and share knowledge. You value stable and secure operations while contributing pragmatically to continuous improvement.
