Role Overview
We are seeking a Sustainability Social Value & Engagement Officer to support the organisation’s national sustainability function. The role plays a key part in driving cultural transformation, embedding sustainability principles across all operations, strengthening regulatory and environmental compliance, and supporting the delivery of national sustainability strategies and engagement initiatives.
This role involves working across multiple internal networks, coordinating stakeholders, generating sustainability-focused content, and supporting employee engagement and community programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Communication & Content Development
Produce communication materials including presentations, reports, briefs, and meeting minutes.
Develop content for sustainability campaigns and internal/external events.
Prepare updates for sustainability communication plans and stakeholder engagement plans.
Stakeholder Engagement & Network Management
Manage and animate national and local sustainability networks, including ambassador groups and function-specific networks.
Coordinate communication between local operational teams and central sustainability teams.
Develop stakeholder mapping and follow-up plans.
Sustainability Project Support
Lead and project-manage sustainability initiatives, coordinating functional stakeholders and analysing related data.
Support the delivery of environmental and social value roadmaps.
Support the development and rollout of sustainability competencies, training, and events.
Social Value & Community Engagement
Support community programmes, employee volunteering platforms, and social value initiatives.
Create and publish sustainability missions and engagement activities on digital platforms, analysing employee participation.
Data Management & Repository Maintenance
Maintain structured digital repositories to ensure that sustainability documents, artefacts, and baselines are stored and accessible.
Ensure information validity, version control, and clarity across tools and storage platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of global sustainability issues, regulatory developments, and environmental compliance expectations.
Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and internal sustainability frameworks or manuals.
Proficient with Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and digital collaboration tools.
Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
Ability to create engaging sustainability content for diverse audiences.

Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating across teams.
Proactive, diplomatic, and comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise pragmatic and compliant solutions.

Work Environment
Tools & Platforms: Corporate sustainability platforms, internal digital hubs, Google Workspace, and selected external sustainability platforms.

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability or a related field
- Experience working on EMS and ISO14001
- Proficiency in environmental management systems and sustainability reporting frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices
- Expertise in carbon footprint assessment and reduction strategies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and sustainability software
- Professional certifications such as LEED AP or CSR-P are preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive change across the organisation
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex sustainability challenges
