What will your role be?
We are looking for an Avionics Software Engineer to join our engineering consulting team and support our client’s aerospace projects in the development of safety-critical avionics software. The successful candidate will work in a highly technical environment, contributing to the design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation of embedded software solutions throughout the software development life cycle. The role involves collaboration with our engineering teams and the client’s technical stakeholders, with responsibilities tailored according to the candidate’s experience and expertise.
- Contribute to the development of safety-critical embedded software for avionics applications.
- Support software requirements analysis, architecture definition, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities.
- Participate in the complete software development life cycle, ensuring compliance with project processes, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace standards.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including design documentation, technical reports, and verification evidence.
- Collaborate with system, hardware, electronics, and test engineers to support software integration and system-level activities.
- Support debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis during software development and integration phases.
- Contribute to software reviews, requirements traceability, verification planning, and certification activities according to the candidate’s level of experience.

What are we looking for in you? Experience and competencies
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering.
- From < 1 up to 3+ years of experience in embedded software development for safety-critical systems.
- Knowledge of embedded software development principles.
- Knowledge of safety-critical embedded software life cycle processes.
- Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Good knowledge of C and/or C++ programming languages.
- Knowledge of software life cycle processes and development methodologies.
- Knowledge of software design methodologies, including UML.
- Knowledge of embedded communication protocols, such as Ethernet stack, UART, SDLC, SPI, and I²C.
- Knowledge of software design principles and engineering tools; experience with IBM Rhapsody is considered an advantage.
- Experience in requirements capture and management using IBM DOORS is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of space and time partitioning concepts.
- Knowledge of safety-critical software development processes according to RTCA DO-178 standard.
- Knowledge of ARM processors and embedded software development toolchains (ARM v8 family preferred).
- Knowledge of Ada programming language is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of software verification and validation principles, activities, and tools; experience with VectorCast is considered an advantage.
